At Centre Support we hear from many educators who struggle with their documentation for the EYLF and MTOP.
We believe the struggle occurs when educators are not confident with their teaching practices. This leads educators to do too much documentation.
Secondly, many educators add to their existing documentation and workload because they hear from a friend at another centre who does it a particular way or someone says on Facebook that their assessor liked what we do. Finally, in some cases the Nominated Supervisor adds to the documentation pressure by panicking and requesting educators to do more for an upcoming assessment and rating visit.
From today let us strip documentation back to the very basics and lay the foundations for great documentation by examining our teaching practices. Great teaching practices will stop the confusion and time wasting with over documenting. Our documentation MUST MEET the ‘Education and Care Services National Regulations’ for compliance. If it doesn’t, you are breaking the law and your centre can be fined. We will use the ‘Education and Care Services National Regulations’ the EYLF and MTOP as our guiding framework today.
